AHS Athletic Team Try-Out Information

Try-Out Guidance: "All students must have a completed physical form (2 copies), parent permission form, participated in the concussion testing program, concussion forms signed (2 pages) and a copy of a utility bill in order to tryout for the teams Please make sure that all forms are completely filled out, including signatures, stamps of physicians, and dates. If you tried out for a fall or winter program all you will need is a copy of a parent permission form, current utility bill and a signed concussion awareness form. Equipment will be provided during tryout dates. We encourage all players and parents not to buy new equipment until all the teams are made."

 

Spring 2012 Season Concussion Testing Information


 

Tryouts for spring sports will begin March 1, 2012. Anyone interested in trying out for a spring sport must have a concussion test. Exceptions include; if you have already taken the concussion test this year or last year, and participating in allied golf or outdoor track. The concussion testing will begin at 2:30pm sharp in room 118. The dates are Feb 13th, 15th, 21st, 23rd and the 28th. Please email Mr. Senisi at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Spots will be limited.

 


 

Guidance for Try-Outs


All students must have the following:
    • a completed Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form (2 copies)
    • a parent Athletic Participation Form
    • participated in the concussion testing program
    • concussion forms signed (2 pages)
    • a copy of a utility bill
In order to tryout for the teams (all incoming 9th graders will also need a copy of their birth certificate). Please make sure that all forms are completely filled out, including signatures, stamps of physicians, and dates. Equipment will be provided during tryout dates. We encourage all players and parents not to buy new equipment until all the teams are made.

All forms can be either found on our Boosters website on the Forms page -or- they can be downloaded directly from the Howard County Public School System website, click on Athletics on the left, then choose Athletic Forms and Guidelines.

FYI: Last year`s AHS Spring 2011 Team Try-Outs began on March 1st, 2011 and the Swimming Try-Outs were held on April 10th, 2011.
